We woke up to a lovely sunny Sunday this morning, so took advantage of the weather to check out Chateau Vincennes - a castle dating back to the 14th century, located just east of Paris. It happens to be at the very far end of Metro line 1, so we hopped on near the house and ended right there at the castle gate.
Some of the buildings were closed for renovation, including the chapel, but we were able to tour the "donjon" tower - once the residence of the royal family and was known to house the library and personal study of Charles V.
Another reminder of just how old this city is!
