About Me

My photo
Thomas and I are in Paris to support Fluor's work on the Simandou Iron Ore project in Guinea, West Africa. We moved here during the summer of 2011, and will be here for at least a year....maybe longer since we are loving Paris!

Joyeux Noel!

We had our first visitors over the Christmas holiday!  I was so lucky to have my parents and sister here for the holiday.  They arrived on December 19 and after a quick two day trip to London, they settled in for their stay.  Caitlin stayed with Thomas and I, and my parents stayed at a colleague's apartment right off the Champs-Elysses.  Lucky them!  We hit the ground running on Saturday and continued to walk what felt like the entire city, checking all the sites off of their list!  Christmas dinner was a little different than usual, with a traditional French brasserie menu at the historical Bofinger restaurant.  Some of the other highlights included a trip to the summit of the Eiffel Tower, a boat ride along the Seine, the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Sacre Coeur at night, Notre Dame, and some great shopping!  We truly enjoyed showing my family around this city that we've come to love, and hope to have many more visitors in the coming months!    Here are a few pictures from their visit...

My New Years Resolution

One of my New Years resolutions this year is to do a better job at keeping in touch with my friends and family.  I know many of us use Facebook to stay updated on each other's lives, I wanted to start this blog -- something I have been talking about doing since last year's adventures in Dubai!  We've done much more sight seeing and travel during our few months here in Paris, so I really want to share our photos and experiences.  We hope you enjoy these pictures and posts, and I promise to make the effort to keep it up to date!   Happy New Year to everyone!
